1. What exactly is the BestPractice-IT Award?
The BestPractice-IT Award is an award for SMEs. Once a year it is awarded by BestPractice-IT – in combination with special prizes – to an European company which has improved processes by the realisation of an ICT approach und thus has given a competitive edge. The Award serves as an incentive for entrepreneurs to provide other companies with exemplary ICT approaches in terms of strong European SMEs. BestPractice-IT Award including special prizes are currently endowed with 10.000 Euro!

2. Who can apply for the BestPractice-IT Award?
All SMEs in Europe – irrespective of the industry in which they operate – which have optimised processes by their exemplary ICT approach and thus increased their competitiveness may apply. The application should be submitted by the entrepreneur/manager respectively by the head of ICT within the company.
3. How can I apply?
Do you identify ICT approaches in your company which meet the following criteria?
• You have recognised ICT as the key to your company development
• You have optimised one or more business processes with ICT
• You have improved the competitiveness of your company
Then please complete our
BestPractice-IT check for your application of participation in the BestPractice-IT enterprise network. You may complete the questionnaire electronically on your PC but you also may print the PDF form and return it to us paper based via e-mail, fax or postal letter to the contact above. If you are admitted to the BestPractice-IT company network due to the evaluation, you are also automatically nominated for the BestPractice-IT Award.
4. When can I apply?
You may apply for the BestPractice-IT Award all-year long. The deadline for the assignment of your application to the respective yearly cycle is 31 December.
5. I am neither an owner nor a decision maker within the company. What can I do?
In this case you may complete the
BestPractice-IT check as well. But we suggest to contact the manager respectively the decision maker or the ICT responsible in your company first.
6. I am the owner of a two-person company. Do I get a real chance versus larger companies?
Absolutely! It’s not the company’s size but the criteria individual initiative, efficiency and profitability which are mentioned in answer 3 that are decisive. The scope of previous Award and special prizes winners includes as well smallest craft companies such as service und industrial companies of the most different industries and sizes.
7. I am the responsible in a company out of Germany. May I apply also in my local language?
Currently you may apply in English, French, Spanish and German.
8. Why do I have to register for the application?
By registration we want to secure we only receive serious applications of progressive companies.
9. Who decides upon my application?
We dispose of an experienced and competent team of editors who make a pre-selection on the basis of the incoming checks. The admission of the applying companies in the BestPractice-IT company network and the related nomination for the BestPractice-IT Award is decided on the basis of an extensive interview normally held by phone.
10. What happens to my provided information?
Your information is stored by the publisher of BestPractice-IT, the G+F Verlags- und Beratungs- GmbH, using electronic data procession and taking into account the Data Protection Act. As a matter of course your data is kept in confidence.
11. When do I get a confirmation of receipt?
Upon entry of the completed check you immediately get a confirmation of receipt. As a rule within eight or 14 days one of our editors gets in contact with you to make an appointment for an interview.
12. May I attend the award ceremony at CeBIT 2011 even if I am not a winner?
All BestPractice-IT companies are cordially invited to attend the award ceremony within the framework of CeBIT Forum SME in Hanover.
13. When will the next BestPractice-IT Award be conferred?
The date of the next award ceremony will be announced on this page soon.
14. Who awards the BestPractice-IT Award?
The BestPractice-IT Award is traditionally awarded within the framework of a festive gala event by a public character from politics or economy.
